"Shady Balkan Subject, Drives an Alfa" (bularmy)

So, I went on the internet and found this. A fellow countryman(Bulgarian) that somehow bought himself a Lambo, went to London, crashed it and then tried a repair it with duct tape. Ummm yeah, nobody will see the difference.
The funny thing is he spent shitload of money for the car, then over $5000 for the custom plate(yes it is custom and this configuration costs that much) and don't have the money to fix his car ASAP.

The question is, why do you care? Yes, its an atrocious looking injury to the exterior of a phenomenal car. However, its still a machine, and a damn fun one to drive at that.

But what if you are so wealthy an Aventador is just your beater???

Screw that. I'd repair it with duct-tape until it looked like something from Mad Max, then DIY modify it to run on massive knobbly tyres and enter the Baja 1000.
Certainly wouldn't buy a custom plate though. Waste of money :)

Hopefully waiting for insurance check. Painters tape won't hold too long.

You are looking at this from the wrong angle. Is there a material lighter than duct tape outside of carbon fiber? I THINK NOT!
Also, on a more serious note, there might not be an instant/immediate solution to the problem. Money can buy you everything but magic. If there aren't any good body shops near by, or the ones who are good enough to fix an aventador have waiting list/distance issues, and this is your only car...well...if you need to literally bandaid a CF lambo right now , can you think of a better solution outside of duct tape?
He should have used something other than the most obviously contrasting tape he could find, though. Water-resistant tape at least.

Looks like he needs to overnight some parts from Japan Italia.

There is nothing wrong with that. At least the car is being driven and the owner isn't crying over it.
Besides, that'll buff out :)

Looks like 3M low tack tape. Its good and waterproof but not as durable as Duct Tape.
Probably waiting for insurance to get back with a schedule of work.

He has a beater Lambo while he waits from the greenlight from insurance to go and get it fixed.
Whats your problem with it?
If I had a busted Lambo and it wasn't going straight into the shop, I'd probably drive it too.
He is laughing at the poors. The damage done to that car probably costs more than some cars on the street. Hence, laughing at poors. Like poors should be laughed at. For being poor. Stop being poor, goddamnit.

Eh, I'm sure this was very temporary. He probably got it properly repaired in short order.

I see your point now and it makes sense, just as Colin Chapman said, add lightness and something else!
Also this is London, more or less the supercar heaven outside Dubai. I see that maybe this just happaned the same day as the pictures were taken, but I will definitely not try this, it just looks unsafe. Tow the car to a secure parking garage and get a rental. But I just understand my fellow countryman psyche too well to know that he is just too cheap to do this.

Hahaha, not a chance. Even wealthy/mafioso Bulgarians don't shell money for two expensive cars.

I am more annoyed that somehow people in the poorest country in the EU can own an Aventador. Tax records show that nobody in Bulgaria can buy a new Lambo, Ferrari or Phantom, but still there are a ton of them.

Hey I also laugh at the poor from my Merc, even if it is only a '06 CLK 280. Not when I am in my Lada though, then it is the reverse.
And my problem is elsewhere, not with the car or the repair, as I wxplained to B_Dol.
Also the car is nost probably insured in Bulgaria, so he must travel around 2500 km to do that, if he doesn't pay from his own pocket.

The other name for duct tape in racing circles is 200mph tape so its a perfectly fine repair :)

I think you'll find that's painter's tape, not duct tape.
